Sustainability at GDD

When planning the festival, we take care to ensure that our actions have as little impact on the environment as possible. We believe that all change is meaningful. This is why, out of respect for the environment, we are constantly adapting our event to sustainable development standards. We keep working to mitigate the negative effects and reuse what we make.

Gdynia Design Days is organised in the Pomeranian Science and Technology Park Gdynia, where we take care of the environment and segregate waste. We eat lunch on glass plates, drink tap water, and – since 2020 – have given up on using rubbish bins next to each desk.

We make every effort to ensure that GDD is a sustainable festival. During our events, all meals are served in an eco-friendly way – we use multi-use dishes and cutlery. We want the meals to be meat-free, and instead rely on seasonal products and local suppliers.

GDD’s festival centre is easily accessible by public transport: SKM railway, bus, trolleybus or bicycle. We choose these options ourselves.

We are scaling down! We’ve changed GDD’s production and promotional strategies. Instead of creating superfluous promotional materials and gadgets, what we give you is made of recycled paper and certified materials. We also emphasise that whatever we’ve produced should be recycled or gain a second life. We cooperate with local producers to limit transport and our carbon footprint
